    Things I'm, like, Loving!

    1. Google Reader
It cleaned up most of my bookmarks and saves time browsing through blogs. I need to start convincing people to use this, so they "share" with me.

    2. Saturday Mornings
The last two weeks I've been going to the Farmer's Market, then volunteering. It really is good way to finish up a week. After school, work and stressing out over the two... it's nice to have some Me Time. And what better way to do that than helping the community and local farmers? Hah. I sound lame, but really, it's good for the soul :) This morning I skipped out on the Market cause I need to save up for my K-Night dress, so I watched a Hannah Montana episode on Youtube. Surprisingly, it was equally satisfying.

    3. Pixar's UP
This movie is perfect to reflect my summer this year. So many adventures! I feel like Carl. Who knows who will be my Russel... Kevin... or Dug? Can't wait! THE WILDERNESS MUST BE EXPLORED!

    COUNTDOWN

  • Joining them on their journey

Today Roy said that he got accepted into a medical school... in the Caribbean.
It kinda made me sad and happy at the same time.
It's sad that he'll be leaving Autumn Years (it's an Alzheimer care home I volunteer at)
He's been so kind and helpful every time I'm there.
And he actually knows my name. It's going to be sad not see him there anymore.
On the other hand, I'm so happy for him.
He practically gave his entire life speech during the volunteer appreciation dinner.
He apparently came from very humble beginnings and medical school wasn't really in his future after he graduated with a bachelor's.
He started off as a caregiver in a care home... then he founded the volunteer program... and now he's going to medical school (he put his application out on whim!).
And what amazes me the most is how true and modest he is.
He truly wants to help the residents at AY. I'm going to get super sappy here and say.. it's very beautiful.
And he's so humble about all he's done.
He has such a good heart.
A good example that nice guys can finish first :)

Really makes me look to a brighter future for myself.
Even though life gives you lemons (like a minimum wage job as a caregiver)...
...still thank God for them. '

    Thanks Roy.

  • Flightless bird

I've only been averaging 4.5 hours of sleep for the past two weeks.
Even with the three day weekend, I still have not caught up with the sleep I need.
I probably will need a year off after graduation... just to sleep.

Anyways, I should really stop internet window shopping.
I calculated my spendings and I've already spent my paycheck... that I got on Friday.
What am I thinking really? I'm a college student with a poverty-paying job. I can't afford the lifestyle I'm living right now.
and I've got no monies for Europe.

    Sorry for the boring posts.

  • humminahhummminah AFRICAAAAaAa

I was talking to a patient today. She was going to Africa tomorrow. She adopted a little boy and was going to pick him up.

I like talking to patients like her. It's a nice break from those uppity, obnoxious, rude ladies who can't control their ADHD-ridden child. Like foreal, c'mon, take a friggin chill pill, stay off the haterade and call me in the morning. hollah!
